This project is about Customer Support. You will learn how to embed a Zendesk customer support widget on a site and send those inquiries to a Slack channel. There are multiple customer support tools and many of them integrate with Slack so if you have questions on how you can streamline your customer support inquiries at work, reach out!
To connect Slack and Zendesk, you will need to install the Zendesk app into your Slack environment. To do this, in Slack, click on the plus sign next to Apps in the side panel. Search for Zendesk and click Add to Slack. Click Continue and then select the channels where customer support inquiries should go to. Enter in your Zendesk subdomain and click Allow to give permissions.
In Slack, hit Get Started and set-up your ticket notifications.
Now, in Zendesk, go to Settings → Channels → Widget. Customize your settings for the widget and then click over to Setup. Select copy to clipboard. Embed this code to your site on pages where you want a support widget. If you are using Carrd, this would be the Embed element.
Test out the connection and just like that, you should have tickets populating in your Slack channel! You can add Zendesk to channels from Slack as needed and you can create tickets from Slack channels as well. To do this, click on the three dot 'More Actions' icon on any given Slack message. There should be an option to create a ticket.
