Step 1
Create and Open a new Airtable base.Next add the following fields, First Name, Last Name, Company Name, Jobb Title, Address Line 1, Address Live 2, City, Postcode/Zipcode and Email.
Insert at least one record of complete dummy data.
Step 2
Open Google Docs.
Click Template Gallery in the top right of the Document Menu. Find and Open a template to use, an invoice template would be ideal.
To enable the mapping of data into the Template, dynamcially inserted fields need be wrapped in {{ }}.
For example,
Once we have wrapped each piece of information in {{ }}, we can go over to Zapier.
Step 3
Open Zapier and Create a new Zap.
Find Airtable and select New Record as the Trigger. Connect your account.
Press continue.
Find and connect the Airtable Base and table that contains our recently created data. Press continue and check we get a green tick.
Search for Google Docs and click New Document From Template.
Connect your Google Docs Account.
Find and select the Template we modified ****previously. Customise the New Document Name field to contain the indivuals name.
You should now see fields for each piece of text we wrapped in {{}}.
Click the ‘fields’ button on the right of the input field and map each piece of data from Airtable into this field. First Name to First Name etc. This will now use generate a new document using our data from Airtable.
Press Continue and Test and Continue.
Once done, you should bbe able to locate a newly created Doc from Template in your Google Drive.
That’s it!
