FAQ page that auto-updates with AwesomeTable

In this tutorial, you will learn how to create a FAQ page for your website and how to use Slack & Zapier to create a workflow to update and manage your community's frequently asked questions.

What you'll need

  • AwesomeTable
  • Google Sheets
  • Slack
  • Zapier
  • Carrd

Estimated time to complete

  • 15 minutes

Log into AwesomeTable, choose the FAQ with Accordion from the template gallery. Open the Google Sheet from the link under Data Source. Rename the D column to Category. Remove the More Information column. Rename the (new) E column to Tools. Copy the Keyword from the Category column and paste it as the keyword for Tools.

Fill in your information for B-E columns.

On the Template tab, in the A column remove this part of code after {{Answeer}}

and then add the following: <div class="tools"> Recommended Tools: {{Tools}} </div>

In column C, replace '.share' with .tools.

In AwesomeTable, under Advanced Parameters, update the Template Range from A1:G2 and the Query to be Select B,C,D,E,F,G. Click update view.

Click on the share icon. Grab the url only from the iFrame line. Embed this on your site.

Connect Slack to your Google Sheet with Zapier. The trigger will be New Pushed Message in Slack. For the Google Sheets portion of the zap, map Question to Message Text and Answer to Text Added. Turn your zap on.
